When will the ongoing violence in Syria ease?

Independence for Syria was declared on 1st January, 1944 at 0.00 A.M., in Damascus. The horoscope cast for these time gives 13 degrees and 15 minutes of sign Libra of tropical zodiac rising in the ascendant. When converted into sidereal zodiac, 20 degrees and 11 minutes of sign Virgo rises in the ascendant. Therefore, ruling sign or the sign of destiny is being taken as Virgo. There is another astrological inputs being pressed into service for purpose of answering the question. The new lunar year commences on 22 March, 2012 at 20 hours, 08 minutes (Indian Standard Time) and extends up to 10 April, 2013. The sign of the sidereal zodiac rising in the ascendant for the corresponding time at Damascus is Leo with 26 degrees. The horoscope worked out may be visited at the included chart of this article.

It may be mentioned here that deduction of about 23 degrees and 56 minutes applicable for the month of March, 2012 ought to be made from tropical position of ascendant and planets to obtain sidereal position.

While passing through sign Virgo of the sidereal zodiac, Saturn moved over to sign Libra on 4 August, 2012. Mars was travelling through sign Virgo in the months of July and mid- August last. It shifted to sign Libra on 14 August. Rahu, the ascending node of the Moon, is currently passing through Martian sign, Scorpio for quite some time past, making the potential of Mars highly violent and catastrophic. The nearness of mars to Saturn in the vicinity of ruling signs Leo and Virgo during August last was the worst for Syria. It may extend to 15 September. The question arises as to whether there is any respite for Syria from the ongoing violent times.

Saturn is moving to be farthest from the Earth around 25 October, 2012, suggesting that the obstructions to settlement would get weaker. In other words, forces trying to settle the ongoing issue may get strength. Further, the Saturn is getting farther in 3rd position from the ruling sign Leo of the current lunar year 2012-13 horoscope, help settlement or easing of the situation. Jupiter, the planet of support and well-being, is getting nearest to the Earth around 3 December, 2012, aspecting Virgo, the ruling sign in the chart of independence of Syria, by 5th house aspect. At least, it is a common belief that Jupiter is passing trine to Virgo. Thus, the support of Jupiter to the easing of the situation could be effective. By the end of December this year, Rahu, the ascending node of the Moon, would have switched over to sign Libra, which position is 3rd from the Leo.

Piecing together the supporting planetary influences, it can be predicted that easing of the tensions or signs of some settlement may become visible from October, 2012 onwards and may take some concrete shape by the end of December, 2012 or January 2013. A new year’s gift perhaps.
