This writer had occasion to go through the article published on 28 November, 2012 in British newspaper, Daily Mail, saying that private spaceflight company Space X of UK has plans to send 80,000 people to colonise Planet Mars by ferrying explorers to the Red planet for $500,000 per trip. Obviously, the proposal is captivating for all though only rich would be in a position to avail of it. The representative of the said company claimed that at Mars, a self-sustaining civilization could be started to grow into something really big. It is being also claimed that with the help of carbon dioxide, Martian soil would be capable of growing crops for food.
The proposal throws to surface some political and astrological questions. As many countries around the globe are eyeing to have a foothold or colony on different planets in the universe, going by human nature, political questions on ownership of the land housing the colonies on the space may possible arise at some stage. In any case, success in setting up a colony in the space could lead to a marked competition among nations as the time passes.
More interesting could be the discussion of astrological issues. It is believed in astrology that planets near to the Earth cast their influences more. Thus the distance comes into picture. On the surface of the Red planet, the influence could perhaps be much more because that would be the nearest to the Mars. It would , therefore, be right for the colonizers to look into whether possible abnormalities in the behavior may not generate among the inhabitants of the colony. Mars in astrology is known for positive as well as negative influences. Mars is known in astrology as the commander in chief of armed forces having responsibility to protect the boundaries of nation. That is why it is also known as the strength of the being or a nation. Other side of the coin being the negative traits of Mars are violence, criminal tendencies, deception, over-ambitious and the like. So whenever the area of Mars is under unfavorable influences of other planets, manifestation on health and psyche of the inhabitants on the colony on Mars could perhaps be a cause for particular concern. This could be more so when the eclipses occur or Mars has retrograde motion. The concern being that these phenomenon are a concern even on the Earth. Then why not on the surface of the Mars?

What about influences of earth as an astrological planet for someone on Mars. Or a birth chart for someone born on Mars 🙂 I think it would give a native martian a completly different core with different personal patterns.
The news about city on Mars reported on 8.1.13 by The Financial Express.
“ PayPal founder to build small city on Mars for vegetarians
Private space entrepreneur and billionaire co-founder of PayPal, Elon Musk is planning to build a small city on Mars for 80,000 space explorers – but only vegetarians are invited!
Musk, whose Falcon 9 rocket delivers NASA cargo to the International Space Station, wants to construct a futuristic settlement on the red planet.
The new civilisation would run off sustainable technology and cater only to vegetarians, The Sun reported.
Speaking to the Royal Aeronautical Society, Musk, 41, revealed he had been waiting ten years to share his vision. “Then it seemed ridiculous because there were no rockets, no infrastructure and NASA was the only game in town – and it had no schedule for exploring Mars,” said the co-founder of Paypal, a global e-commerce business. “But with my work, and many others working in the private sector, the mission is coming closer to reality,” he added.
“On Mars you can start a self-sustaining civilisation and grow it into something really big,” he said. One of America’s most respected private space entrepreneurs, Musk – worth about 1.25 billion pounds – has admitted the challenges remain daunting. These include the dangers of deep-space radiation, bone-rot and toxic dust.He recommends the size of the new society shouldbe around 80,000 people. “Too few, and the gene and culture pool dries up. Too many and you risk civil war,” he said.’
