Being Plutonian

August 19th, 2017

Dore_Gustave_21_CursIf you have a strong natal Pluto, you may be Plutonian, and this can be seen with a natal Pluto that is at a critical or anaretic degree, a singleton, the apex planet of a t-square, the most or least aspected planet, in the 1st house, or conjunct the natal Sun, Moon, or an angular house cusps. You may also feel Plutonian with lots of planets in Scorpio or the 8th house, the sign and house Pluto naturally rules.

Strong Pluto in the natal chart can make you an intense, serious person. You may be someone who seems quite formidable, like there’s nothing you can’t push through or overcome. When you focus on something, you can stick with it until you find everything there is to find, wanting to understand it at the core. You can deal with serious matters with a serious approach, and have little patience for superficiality. You want there to be depth to everything and everyone, and anything else is a waste of time. There can be something about you too, and people may be drawn in to your intensity and passion.

The downside of being Plutonian is you can have a hard time coming down from that intensity, and there can often be a lot of pent up rage and hostility. You can shove it away and keep shoving it away until it explodes at some point, and then you can feel guilty about it, but you do it all over again and it becomes an endless cycle. Hatred can also be an issue, and you may feel it stronger than most of us. It can swim around inside of you and eat away at you, turning you into someone you don’t like. Your emotions are amplified, that’s for sure, but you need to find a way to express them that is healthy and positive. Bottling them up doesn’t help you, and you end up being very bitter and angry.

Usually, when you have a strong natal Pluto, this indicates someone who has to undergo a major transformation at some point or many small transformations throughout their life. Transforming is your way of breathing again after being suffocated by Pluto, and it becomes something that absolutely has to happen. Very little in your life can work out right until you transform, and you may have trouble controlling yourself until you do. It can be an intense process, grueling, painful, and force you to face inner demons you’ve been running from forever, but once you come out from the other side, light finally shines in your life.

Getting through the Pluto difficulties isn’t easy, but the test you have to endure only makes you stronger. Pluto puts you through the hardest challenges because he knows you can handle it and he knows your potential when you make it. You can be an impressive person, someone that other people are in awe of, and your will can be unmatched. Being Plutonian can give you strength that no one else has, and can help you get through anything.

Right on about the intensity! I met my soul mate (spouse) as Pluto transited both of our Venus’ in Scorpio. Yes, ‘intense ‘ is Pluto’s archetypal quality.

David Adam: I’m a fellow Pluto conjunct the Ascendant too! Given your Rising is Leo, that would normally make you come across as playful, fun-loving, maybe a little goofy, but with Pluto here, you can seem more intense, passionate, and serious than a typical Leo Rising.

Mike Wahl: Very nice! Pluto and Saturn tend to be the ones who bring on the long-lasting relationships (congrats on yours!).
