Everybody moves at some point in their life, and some of us move more than others. I’m going to review what moving aspects are in astrology so you can see when you’ll have opportunities for moving and plan accordingly.
The home is ruled by the 4th house, so that’s the house you want to focus on. First, see which planets are transiting your 4th house. With Pluto here, a move can transform you, and you may need to overcome something in order to move. You could also move to a place that’s undergoing a transformation or revitalization, or to a home that needs to be restored to it’s former glory. With Neptune here, you may have a hard time making concrete plans or definitively picking where you want to go, and need to be near water (or metaphorically on a street or in a town with a body of water in the name, like Forest Lake Street). With Uranus here, you can move suddenly and/or unexpectedly, on a whim, or to an unusual place or under unusual circumstances.
If Saturn is going through your 4th house, you may move for financial reasons, to a smaller place, or under circumstances that feel restrictive (like back into your parent‘s home). If Jupiter is going through your 4th house, you may move to a bigger place or for some opportunity you’re presented with.
Once you find which of the slower planets are going through your 4th house, you then look to the faster planets to pinpoint a smaller window for moving, especially Mars. Mars is the planet of energy and drive, and when he’s going through your 4th house, you can have the energy and become driven to move. If Jupiter is also here, it can be a positive experience. If Saturn or Pluto are here, it may be difficult and you really have to push. If Neptune is here, you may have trouble focusing the energy. If Uranus is here, you can move suddenly (while you have Uranus in your 4th house, you might even find that you move or almost move each time Mars is also touring through your 4th house).
Now that you’ve looked at the planets going through your 4th house, you can move on to looking at aspects being made by the slower planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) to your 4th house ruler and 4th house cusp. Easy aspects (sextile and trine) tend to show an easier time getting the move together, where hard aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) tend to show more difficulty or resistance. If you see aspects bunched up together (2 – 6 weeks apart, depending on how many aspects), you can pinpoint another period of time where you can move. If you have faster planets in the 4th house at the same time, and one or two of the slower planets, that signifies significant moving energy.
If you want to move far from where you are, you’ll also want to look at the 9th house. The 9th house rules far travel, and if you’re moving far away, you’ll likely also see planets moving through your 9th house, or aspecting your 9th house ruler or cusp. If you’re not moving far and staying in the same general area, you’ll usually see aspects instead to your 3rd house, ruler of short travel and your community.
