As the year 2014 approaches its midway point, the general picture of the world economy is far from inspiring. This scenario seems to be giving rise to apprehensions of economic recession once again. Obviously, everyone the world over will be anxious to know what shape the global economy will take in the coming years.
This writer is addressing these concerns by applying Vedic astrology. Nine planets (Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury, the Moon and its Nodes, Rahu and Ketu) are analyzed in Vedic astrology to make predictions. Slower-moving planets play a major role in shaping events, but the energetic and faster-moving planet Mars is no less important.
The planetary positions given in this article are calculated according to the Sidereal zodiac, which is the zodiac used by most Vedic astrologers. These positions, which are relevant for the years 2014 to 2016, differ by about 24 degrees and 10 minutes from those in the Tropical zodiac. The following astrological positions hold the most effect on the world economy during the years 2014 to 2016 in order of significance:
(1) Saturn will enter the sign of Scorpio on November 2, 2014, and will remain in that sign until January 25, 2017. The planet will turn retrograde and therefore more intense on March 15, 2015. It will again be retrograde in Scorpio from March 26, 2016, to August 13, 2016, during the time period under consideration in this article.
(2) Jupiter will be in the sign of Cancer from June 19, 2014, to July 12, 2015. Thereafter, the planet will enter Leo on July 13, 2015, and remain there until August 11, 2016. The planet will be near Rahu, the North Node of the Moon, from November 2015 to July 2016. Jupiter will be retrograde from January 9, 2016, to May 9, 2016, in the sign of Leo.
(3) Rahu, the North Node of the Moon, will enter the sign of Virgo on July 15, 2014, and will remain in that sign until January 31, 2016. Thereafter, Rahu will enter Leo on February 1, 2016. Ketu, the South Node of the Moon, will be passing through the sign opposite the one occupied by Rahu, maintaining a distance of 180 degrees.
(4) Mars will enter the sign of Taurus on May 3, 2015, and will continue to be in that sign until June 15, 2015.
(5) Mars will enter the sign of Scorpio on February 20, 2016, and will continue on in that sign until September 17, 2016. The planet will be in retrograde motion from April 18, 2016, to June 2016 in the sign Scorpio. During this time, Mars and Saturn will be together in the same sign.
Since the focus of this article is on the world economy, the following planetary influences must be analyzed in particular:
(1) Jupiter, being the significator of the economy
(2) Saturn, being the significator of monetary loss or obstruction to the influx of money
(3) the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces, being owned by Jupiter
(4) the sign of Taurus, being owned by Venus
Analysis
Saturn’s entry into Scorpio on November 2, 2014, opposite the sign of Taurus, will mildly influence the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces as well. Thus, the influence of Saturn on the signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces do not, in general, augur well for the world economy. The gradually increasing proximity of Jupiter to Rahu, the North Node of the Moon, around April 2015 and thereafter could add a negative boost to the otherwise weak influences that are not good for the world economy. The entry of Mars into Taurus on May 3, 2015, may have the tendency to add an unfortunate boost to the aforementioned influences.
These influences can be read to mean that a mild slide downwards in the world economy is likely to be seen after about October 2014. Unwelcome influences on the world economy around April 2015 and thereafter suggest that discernible concerns could surface around April 2015 and onwards. Definite rumbles of distress will be heard! However, a major cause of concern may arise from November 2015 to July 2016 when benign Jupiter may begin to have a scattered influence. Both Saturn and Mars will be in retrograde motion during March and April 2016 extending over into the middle of that same year. Thus, the major concern could surface during the first half of the year 2016.
It seems that 2015 and 2016 could present circumstances in the world economy that might call for a well-thought-out strategy in relation to fresh investments. Perhaps a major rethinking of priorities will be in order. Such a strategy would also require a focus on what to halt or diversify to ensure the well-being of investments made earlier.
Aspects of Life That Could be Vulnerable to Planetary Influences
Minerals and metals; crops; energy resources like hydropower, oil and gas; wisdom as the basis for strategy, especially regarding the defense and security of nations; communication systems; earthquakes; tsunamis in seas; territorial disputes; and industries, businesses or items related to sound.
Countries or Regions Likely to be Impacted by Planetary Effects
It may not be reasonably possible to pinpoint precisely which nations or regions will be affected by the aforesaid planetary influences. Some countries or regions may be touched by the influences closely, while others may share comparatively less strain. Even so, an artistic interpretation can be attempted here. Countries surrounded by seas having energy resources like oil or gas might need to take more precautions. Also, countries or regions whose names begin with the letters B, E, Eu, N, O, P, U or V may need to implement a multilevel approach to challenges during this period of time.
Remedial Measures
It is of crucial importance for the leadership of nations and multinational corporations and banks to develop a well-orchestrated strategy, keeping in view the aforementioned astrological details. Acute tactical timing should be used in regard to investments. Restraint, where necessary, will allow cooler heads to prevail. A passion for investments may be pursued more cautiously with an eye to maximum profit in businesses relating to those aspects of life mentioned earlier as being vulnerable to planetary influences. In particular, a wait and watch policy should be adopted in matters relating to these target areas.

A Challenging period for Russia ,China and France avoid a dispute especially during April-May
Citation: The most disturbing sign in Scorpio reflects on Aquarius and Leo Mars: February 20, 2016 – September 17, 2016 especially May 18 may be super critical:
The Element associated with Scorpio is Water. As opposed to the ‘roiling seas’ seen in other Water Signs, a better motto for Scorpios would be ‘still waters run deep. The less evolved Scorpio will be jealous, sneaky, paranoid and underhanded. He can be the most deceitful, resentful and unforgiving sign of the zodiac. Scorpio is the one who will cut you off from his life if you hurt him, and never look back. He is the one who will seek revenge. At his worst, a less evolved Scorpio can be a criminal, or he can simply live a life in self-destructive mode. It seems to be a general irritant. And that is what makes it so provocative. Mars-Saturn is like an internal combustion engine. It is loaded with horsepower and traction. It’s a power tool.
Mars will enter the sign of Scorpio on February 20, 2016, and will continue on in that sign until September 17, 2016. The planet will be in retrograde motion from April 18, 2016, to June 2016 in the sign Scorpio. During this time, Mars and Saturn will be together in the same sign.
During Saturn’s passage through Visakha star, people living in China and Northern parts of Asia would be affected. During its passage through Anuradha star, people of Kashmir would be affected. Further, sensitive regions such as the borders of Kashmir, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the Northern areas would undergo turmoil, due to a variety of reasons. During Saturn’s transit over Jyeshta (December 2015 – January 2017), security of heads of States are given top priority.
worked as a chemist during both wars and there obtained her knowledge of poisons, which was to become her favourite weapon in her detective stories. Another Saturn-Neptune signature, was her own ‘disappearance.’ It seems clear she disappeared because she wanted to escape from, and felt unable to cope with, all the responsibilities she found herself saddled with after the dead of her mother and exit of her husband.” [1
Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto. Mars was the God of War in ancient Roman mythology and is the first (and most ancient) ruler of Scorpio. When Pluto was discovered in the 20th century, it was also assigned to this sign. Pluto was known as the God of the Underworld in ancient Roman times, so when coupled with Mars, expect some intense energy to head toward Scorpions here on Earth. This planetary combo makes for people who are motivated, penetrating and aware. Scorpions don’t miss much, since they are highly attuned to the vibrations of others. They are intuitive, probing and very focused on knowing who’s who and what’s what. Scorpios can lose their temper (and even become vengeful) when someone gets in their way, so it’s best to give them plenty of room. Remember, they’re unafraid, and a loss today simply means an opportunity for victory tomorrow
