The young woman is asking whether her partner's friend will bring her partner a new car at his return from abroad.

This question was received on March 23, 2005, at 2:06:40 pm EET, in Tirgu Mures, Romania (24e33, 46n33).

This question is a bit tricky, but not that much, yet I found it somehow difficult to understand at first. As one may notice from the chart, the astrologer's significator in a horary chart, 7th house ruler Saturn is in detriment (exile) and cadent, and Neptune is the only planet in the 7th house, contributing to blurring my intial understanding of the chart.

The question, as it is phrased, specifically refers to the partner, represented also in the 7th house (rulers Saturn and Uranus). The new car would be shown by the turned 2nd or the 3rd house from the 7th house as we may consider it as just a possession or as a vehicle. This chart makes it easy, having both cusps in the same sign, Pisces, so the car is definitely represented by Jupiter and Neptune.

There is no aspect or reception between the traditional rulers, so the only way to solve the mystery is by using the modern rulers. Uranus and Neptune are not only in mutual reception by sign (each in other's domicile) but also by house (each one in the house ruled by the other one). According to the more experienced horary astrologers, this mutual reception would suffice to bring the matter to perfection and to yield a positive answer.

I still wondered why is the Moon in the 2nd house of questioner's possessions, until an experienced astrologer on the Skyscript forum on horary astrology, made it clear to me that it might be that both the querent and the partner will use the car (which is quite obvious now, but I didn't think about that).

Seeing the chart this way, it all makes sense: there is a clear-cut mutual applying conjunction between the Sun (1st house ruler) and Mercury (2nd and 3rd house ruler) in the 9th house (the car was brought from abroad) and in Aries (it was a red car). Really easy...

The outcome was that the partner's friend arrived from abroad driving a brand new red Ford 13 days after the question was asked.

The lesson I learned from this chart is how important is to check for afflictions to the 7th house in any horary chart, before starting the chart analysis. Or, as one of my teachers teached us in the college, when uncertain about the right answer during an exam, think about it really hard, formulate your answer, then say the opposite...
