Take a moment and take a voyage with me. It is somewhere in humanitys future, whenI do not know. The place is a colony on Europa. Earth is a far distant memory for whatever reason and the Sun is the nearest star. Although Jupiter is not a star, it does have radiation that comes off it and affects the Europa colony, all be it differently than how the Sun affects the Earth. The moons of Jupiter may be considered planets because they are orbiting Jupiter and have more of an impact on Europa than the actual planets of the solar system.
Yet humanity, however it has transformed and transmuted due to living on Europa, will still carry the collective unconscious of the entire species, from Australopithecines to modern homo sapien sapiens to the genus that the Europans have become. So when a Europan looks up into the sky, there will still be pictures in the sky that mythology is formed from, but will they be the same pictures that humanity has carried via all methods of astrology until now?
Perhaps and perhaps not. The mythology of Europa will be based upon the relationships humanity has with its surroundings and each other. The astrology will most likely spring from this mythology, with deep unconscious influence from the astrology of the ancestors. Natal charts may be drawn in circles (if the Western mode of astrology is the strongest current the Europans pull from) and that may be the point where similarity ends.
We do not know exactly how astrology will develop as it moves out beyond the Earth. It will be different because humanity will have changed and evolved. Humanity's astrology will also follow suit.
What we are able to do for these distant descendants is to start contemplating the evolution of astrology today, possibly the idea of a portable astrology that is based upon non-geocentric points of reference, whether it is the closest stars, closest galaxies, closest dimensions or closest universes. Today's astrologers may be only able to discuss the idea of a portable astrology in a very broad, general way because we may not have the evolutionary faculties to actually develop it at this time.
Yet the discussion of a portable astrology is important even though we may not have all the terms or concepts readily available to us. The Europans, or any other hominid species that has distant origins on Earth, will most likely still carry the hominid collective unconscious and will draw upon those currents wherever they journey. If we plant the seeds in the collective conscious of astrology today, they will have plants to draw from in the collective unconscious of the future.
My 2 worth. Take what fits and ditch the rest.
